Card no 90 – Roland (Roland1) – Utrecht, The Netherlands

This direct swap card shows the Academy building of the University with the former Cathedral chapter.  The university is one of the oldest universities in the Netherlands (and the top one in that country) and one of the largest in Europe.  It was established in 1636.

The Union of Utrecht was signed in this building in 1579 unifying the northern provinces of the Netherlands, until then under the control of Habsburg Spain.

I wass really pleased to get another (and different) Postcrossing stamp which Roland had put on specially for me.

This card arrived on 11th June, travelled 345 miles and took 4 days.

Total so far – 274,627 miles; 22 countries (including 8 US States).

Countries from which I have received cards as at 1st June 2012 are shown in green on this – map
