Card no 58 – Sasha (Alexandra8959) – St Petersburg, Russia (PC31)

Sasha ( or Alex) sent me this beautiful painting of the Moika River embankment by Irina Esinevich.

It is the first square postcard I have had.

On the back it has this piece of verse by Alexander Pushkin.

Isn’t this a fantastic stamp of an Orca or Killer Whale. I’m glad the postmark didn’t spoil it.

This fox stamp is from a 2008 series.

This 2008 Russian stamp is from a series of cable-braced bridges of Russia and is in St Petersburg over the River Neva.

This card arrived on 11th May, travelled 1,335 miles and took 28 days.

Total so far – 204,640 miles; 18 countries (including 8 US States).
