Card no 26 – Franzi, Germany

The town hall of Luneburg.  Lüneburg (officially the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg) is a town in the German state of Lower Saxony. It is a university town and is located about 45 km (28 mi) southeast of fellow Hanseatic city Hamburg.

The stamp depicts one of my favourite flowers – known in England as the Chinese Balloon  Flower.  I have one in the garden and every year when it blooms I cannot help but photograph it as the flowers open from their balloon shape to become bells like the one depicted on the stamp.

This card arrived on 22nd March, travelled 552 miles miles and took 10 days.

Total so far – 91,664 miles; 14 countries (including 4 US States).
